Fernando Giménez (born 10 July 1984 in Paraguay) is a Paraguayan footballer. He currently plays as a midfielder for Ecuadorian club Emelec.
He began in his native country playing for amateur teams. In 2006, Giménez arrived to Chile to play for Puerto Montt. That season the team made it to the playoffs and Giménez was very important to the team.
In 2007, Giménez moved to U. de Concepción. However, he only stayed six months before returning to Puerto Montt. In the Clausura of that year Puerto Montt was relegated to the second division but Giménez was the team's top goal scorer.
In 2008, he returned to U. de Concepción.
On 2010 he was transferred to Ecuadorian giants Emelec to cover the left side of the pitch, after being recommended by the argentinian manager Jorge Sampaoli. He scored a beautiful goal on his debut match with Emelec in the 2010 team's official presentation (Explosión Azul).
He eventually became a very important part of Emelec in the 2010 season and the club's management decided to sign him for another season.
